The Well Road Centre

The Well Road Centre is a large Victorian residence set on its grounds within the lovely town of Moffat. It is situated in a quiet area yet is only a stroll from the shops and amenities of the town. This flexible facility caters to the needs of a variety of groups, from youth organizations to student societies, from holidays for large family groups to weekend retreats. It also makes a great base for walking and cycling clubs to explore the quiet hills and rural roads in the area.

Sleeping up to a maximum of 70, but very comfortable for smaller groups.

The Centre has comfortable, spacious accommodation for large families and multiple family/friends gatherings. It caters to the needs of youth groups, church groups, and school groups looking for an activity or conference weekend or week. Walking or cycling clubs would also find it a good base for exploring the area.

Meeting Room/Lounge: Extensive accommodation. All rooms are fully carpeted and centrally heated. They offer both spacious living accommodations and rooms for a wide range of activities. You can bring your equipment along - thereafter, there are no limits but your imagination.

There is a good parking area for cars or minibusses in front of the house and its courtyard. This can be particularly useful for equipment trailers (e.g. canoes and sports equipment) or small conventions.

The hills to the north and east were once the haunt of the Border Rivers. Golfers, bird watchers, walkers, and cyclists, will all find something worth a visit.

Moffat has an excellent range of cafés, gift shops, and grocery shops, many in sight of the Moffat Ram in the High Street square.

There are other attractions in or near Moffat. The Beechgrove Sports Barn near the Moffat Academy offers a variety of indoor sports and a fitness gym, with tennis courts nearby. The nearest swimming pools are in Dumfries.
​
The town has a good 18-hole golf course, a park with a boating lake, a putting green, a water play feature and swings for children. There are two other parks in Moffat, one of which is near Well Road Centre and may be used for any sports activity.
